Overview

Located on the Abu Dhabi waterfront, Amity International School was conceived as a contemporary campus that integrates academic, recreational and residential facilities within a unified masterplan. Designed to accommodate students from early years through secondary education, the campus establishes a strong relationship between architecture, landscape and its coastal setting.

Project Vision

The campus was envisioned as an environment where learning extends beyond the classroom. Academic buildings, sports facilities, outdoor spaces and student amenities are organised to encourage interaction while creating a clear sense of identity across the site. The design responds directly to its waterfront location, using the landscape as an integral component of the educational experience.

Design Response

The masterplan organises the campus into distinct academic and recreational zones connected by clear pedestrian circulation. The architecture draws inspiration from maritime forms, with elements recalling the hull of a ship and a sweeping roof that unifies the principal sports and recreational facilities. Landscape plays an important role throughout the campus, linking buildings with outdoor learning areas and recreational spaces while reinforcing visual connections to the surrounding waterfront.

Learning Environment

The campus supports a broad range of learning experiences, from traditional classrooms to sports facilities, outdoor gathering spaces and collaborative environments. Together these elements create a flexible educational setting that encourages movement, interaction and wellbeing throughout the school day.

Performance & Impact

Since completion, Amity International School has established itself as one of Abu Dhabi's leading international schools. The project demonstrates Dewan's ability to deliver integrated educational campuses that combine academic planning, architectural identity and landscape within a cohesive learning environment.
